Most people come in asking how to cope better. After years spent adjusting when life turned out harder than expected.
Anxiety has been useful. It often looked like conscientiousness, preparedness, and reliability. Anxiety has also been exhausting.
I am curious about why coping became the whole project.

Generally, our starting point is a discovery conversation with no obligation.
If you decide to go forward to therapy sessions, we’ll build out a formulation in the next session.
This gives a sense of what’s happening. Your agenda and our formulation highlights where to put efforts into change.
Our early work shapes the direction and duration of your psychological therapy.
My approach to psychological therapy is client-centred, open-ended and evidence-based. I blend multiple therapies to ensure our sessions meet you where you are, at your pace, and with care.
I specialise in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), person-centred therapies, bereavement counselling, research and clinical supervision.

Arranging a discovery conversation
If I can be helpful for what brings you to therapy right now, I will suggest arranging a discovery conversation. This is a confidential, practical and supportive session of up to 90 minutes.
Attending a discovery session has no expectation or commitment to continuing sessions.
As a responsible clinician, I practice within the limits of my competence. I cannot provide a comprehensive team based approach to complex presentations.
I do not offer emergency consultations, out of hours support or home visits.
Calling 111 and choosing the mental health option connects you to the NHS locally.
Finding a therapist who fits your needs is an important process.
But searching takes time and cultivates a sense of uncertainty while you are looking for clarity on a particular issue.
You’re looking for safe clinical care that respects your resources. That’s why the 'search' usually feels like a 'vetting process'. I believe transparency about my practice and costs is the first step in building an effective therapeutic relationship.
